- Sweep sidewalk, mow the lawn, trim the bushes, weed the garden and clean debris from the yard.
- Clean the windows (inside and out) and make sure the paint is not chipped or flaking.
- Be sure the doorbell works.
- Clean clutter from all rooms, closets, and drawers. Most important, keep the bathrooms and kitchen looking spotless.
- Make sure appliances and fixtures work. Get rid of leaky faucets and frayed cords. If you haven’t already, then you may want to consider purchasing a home warranty.
- Remove bad odors from your home. Smoking and pet odors can be a turn off to potential buyers. Smells of baking cookies or pies or even spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove will give your house a warm welcome home feeling.
- Consider a vase of fresh flowers throughout the house.
